alexander the brave

I opened Faye's email and read the first few lines while at work and completely lost my breath.
"Alexander was diagnosed with Leukaemia in April of this year..."
Fortunately the email didn't end there.
"He is doing well now and on the road to recovery but we want to remember this time..."
I meet the Frewer family last December...remember this blog post?

"Faye and Scott are incredible parents to Alexander and Charlotte, two of the most adorable little people I've ever met. Faye, Scott, your little ones have clearly captivated your hearts. I can't tell you how much fun I had watching you both light up while around them. The kisses, cuddles and silly dances you'd both spontaneously break into to were simply magic. Alexander, Charlotte...when you're a little older you'll wake up one morning and realise just how blessed you both are two be loved so much by your mum and dad!
Till that day, continue to blissfully be bathed in their love"

I can't imagine how hard these last 6 months must have been for them all. What I do know is that these four are resilient and as tough as this year must have been it's clearly had no impact on the love and joy they share.

I felt so privileged to be able to hang out with such a gorgeous family 12 months ago. To be able to document this part of their journey was a total honour.
...

Alexander one day you'll look back on these photos and realise you're middle name is 'Brave'.

a stop sign

Guess what! It's the day before Christmas and I get to spend it with you!!

This images has absolutely nothing to do with Christmas...actually on second thoughts maybe it does.

Kids bring so much joy and I guess Christmas is a celebration all about the joy that entered the world in the form of a baby boy.

Isaac Watts

You can put them in a bridal party, dress them up in beautiful white dresses, do their hair, give them gorgeous flowers but at the end of the day what makes kids so remarkable is that they have this uncanny way of finding joy in just about anything...including a stop sign!

scones and muffins

Lauren had Michelle and I over and spoilt us with tea, champagne and so many delicious treats. You poor man - sadly I don't think I'll ever be a domestic goddess like this.

maneesha

You know how sometimes you get and totally unexpected gift ?
We'll that's kinda what I feel like God gave me in Maneesha.
A friendship that was birthed out of the most hilarious circumstances has turned into one of the greatest blessing. I find Monday -  Friday so much easier knowing she's only an email away!

a christmas dinner

A few weeks ago we had Christmas dinner with this lovely bunch.
I wish I'd taken a photo of your amazing leg of ham. First time and you nailed it - what a champ!
Do you recon Alli had a chocolate treat?
$0 secret Santa...
...and hilarity ensues.

hunter valley day trip

This was so much fun - I'd do it again in a heart beat, only next time I'd add in two ingredients to make it perfect - you and a long weekend!

Oh wait - I should probably explain the pink chair - it was a secret santa gift...and yes one of the boys got it!
Another one of the $0 secret Santa gifts was a Bieber album. After a few wines we were all getting into it...well most of us...ok...the girls were :P
This was my favourite moment by far. We were driving to the next winery and just as we start pulling into the drive way we hear this voice through the speakers - it was none other than...
I love this girls antics - she was absolutely hilarious!
Let me explain - her secret Santa gift was a life vest so she thought it was important to share with us all the appropriate exit procedures when disembarking the bus.
She must have been an air hostess in another life. She had the script down so perfectly. Had me in stitches!
With no more wine to consume on our long drive home it was time to crack open Liam's home brew (yet another secret Santa gift).
Farewell sweet Hunter...till we meet again!
